Work is stressing me out lately. I'm working hard and all hours; consequently I'm too wired to sleep properly. This makes for a tired and cranky person which doesn't help work productivity and hence a self-sustaining downward spiral is created. You can tell by the music I'm listening. At the beginning of the week it is usually Mika or Blondie and by the end of the week it is NIN or Linkin Park . As I am already on NIN my mood is not the best (I've basically been blanking workmates who are of the cheery, chatting disposition).
I'm in a better mood tonight though for the two reasons mentioned in the title. I ran into my SGC (Straight Girl Crush) who I hadn't seen in a while and also had a mutual rant with some friends about Sarah Palin. An SGC is someone who I have a crush on (mostly intellectually or emotionally but with some sexual element) who is effectively "safe" as there is no prospect of it developing further (I am too much of a coward to ever think there could be more) and often a fairly good friend. I often have more than one at the same time and they are usually very different from me. This SGC is always well-dressed (very femmy), very intelligent and confident. It was after a fancy dress party a few months ago that she became an SGC (it was all about the outfit!). The SGC and I chatted and caught up as both of us had been away. She was part of the Sarah Palin rant as well.
